What You’ll Do
In this hybrid Systems Administration/Network role, you will:
- Maintain and support Windows and UNIX-based systems as well as network infrastructure for both banking and trading environments.
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting, installations, configurations, and user training for PC/Unix hardware and software.
- Ensure daily availability of LAN-related applications and Kondor+ trading systems.
- Install and update SWIFT Alliance, Checkpoint Firewall, and other network components.
- Act as primary liaison between the bank and vendors for PC and LAN-related issues.
- Manage and monitor Symantec Enterprise Vault and eVault Backup systems.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring network security policies.
- Maintain and test disaster recovery systems and update procedures.
- Provide daily trading floor technology support for Reuters Data Feed, RMDS, DACS, Kobra, Data Mirror, and other market data tools.
- Strong Windows networking skills with Windows Server and Exchange.
- Extensive experience with Market Data systems (Reuters RMDS, DACS, Kondor), Red Hat Linux Enterprise (Squid Proxy, Smart Filter), MS Office, Outlook, and data communication equipment.
- Database management experience with SQL Server and Sybase ASE.
- Security expertise with Check Point Firewall, RSA SecureID, and VMWare vSphere.
- Clear, confident communication skills and proven ability to prioritize effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline (required).
- Previous experience in a NYC-based branch of an international bank strongly preferred.
