Operational Risk Management Support Associate (Temp-to-Perm)
Business Group: Operations Group
Job Title: Temp (3 months, potential to convert to permanent)
Location: New York City (Hybrid, must be local)

We are seeking an Operational Risk Management Support Associate to join our Operations Group on a 3-month temporary assignment with the potential to go permanent.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2+ years of experience in banking operations, operational risk management, or compliance who is looking to grow their career with a mid-sized, high-end asset management firm; competitive compensation with a salary range for the role of $45.00-65.00 per hour; hybrid onsite 2-3 days per week+.

This role is designed for an early-career professional eager to learn, gain exposure, and build a foundation in operational risk and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support operational risk activities, including RCSA data gathering and basic KRI monitoring.

  • Help document processes and controls while reinforcing risk awareness with business units.

  • Assist with project coordination, tracking tasks and deliverables, and preparing status updates.

  • Prepare operational reports and dashboards for stakeholders.

  • Liaise with ORM, compliance, IT, and business teams to ensure alignment.

  • Participate in compliance training and support process improvement initiatives.

  • Assist with short-term projects such as system rollouts or regulatory initiatives.

Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2+ years of experience in banking operations, operational risk management, audit or compliance.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Office tools.

  • Interest in learning risk/project tools (dashboards, task trackers).

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn.

  • Analytical mindset with comfort interpreting basic metrics and trends.
