Top financial institution seeks a Trade Finance and Marketing Officer to source “Direct” bilateral credit facilities for the New York agency.

 

This position reports to the Corporate Relationship Manager.

 

You must have knowledge of commercial loan applications and the application process and must be familiar with the NYA Credit Manual and distinguish between desirable and undesirable loans.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

You will negotiate term sheets, write call memos and write reports for management.

Develop a marketing plan and strategy.

Represent the bank at trade gathering, seminars, and conferences.

Review the opening of letters of credits, and the financing of goods received under trust receipt financing.

Make regular visits to the customer’s offices to review management’s

operations, strategy and collateral values.

Review collateral reports monthly to determine if funding under the facility is sufficient under the approved collateral formula.

Work with loan administration to review funding request by the borrower.

Attend Credit Committee and Credit Risk Management meetings and report to management on the financial condition and trends of the borrower.

Follow up the borrower for all compliance certificates and covenants under the loan agreement.

Schedule and review the field examination process including reports prepared by the bank’s independent field examiner and report to management on the results of each field examination.

 

 

BA in Finance or related field; MBA and/or CFA a plus. 
3-5 years experience in lending.

A basic knowledge of trade finance products i.e. letters of credit

and documentary collections.

Credit skills to prepare an interim credit review and a full CAP.

Strong financial statement analysis skills.
Confidence to discuss credit issues with CAs, FAs and clients.
Corporate and structured financing skills including understanding of legal and tax issues/requirements.
Must be a confident speaker and comfortable making presentations to employees at all levels.
Ability to work independently, strong negotiating skills, strong communication skills both verbal and written.
